The Compass Robotics team has several ways that members can step up and follow their course. Some are elected positions while others are appointed.
- Representative and head spokesperson for Compass Robotics. Supervises all sub team activities.
- Runs and plans meetings with Captains
- Coordinates build season schedule with mentors, ensuring everyone updates their schedule and has task assigned for each day
- Expert of the game manual and oversees doing an initial points analysis and leading discussions on strategies during kickoff.
- Must attend all team meetings and be there every day unless appropriate excuse
- Responsible with keeping in touch with parents along with vice-captain
- Main overseer, and not the main leader of the building – that responsibility lies on the back of the Mechanical Tech Lead; however, the captain may contest any decision other leads wish to make.
- Must keep positive and supportive communication with all leads
- Orders parts and supplies for the team

Responsible for finding and attracting new members. Would be the contact for interested kids at the table when we do outreach events. Would create posters and announcements to send to STEM teachers at the various schools in the area. Would introduce the awesomeness of FRC to kids that don't know anything about it. This is an absolutely critical role for sustaining the team.
Would be responsible for onboarding new team members. Teaching them about the various sub-teams so they can figure out which sub-team they might be interested. Arrange "training days" to help new members learn the skills they might need. Coordinate doing Summer or Fall robotics camps. This would help our outreach as well as recruitment.
Responsible for scheduling and producing the News (blog posts), Instagram (not reels), and Facebook, (and maybe Mastadon?) Works with the CMO to coordinate on theme, quality, sponsor representation. Works with the Video Media Manager to promote their videos and drive traffic to the website.

- Must be present all possible days for first half of build season
- Constructs game pieces according to FIRST manual, adjusting the designs as needed according to materials the team has but ensuring identical dimensions as original pieces
- Organizes and supervises the design and build of all non-robotic materials (such as creating pit materials/decor)
- Most important weeks are first 3-4 weeks to make sure game pieces are built and ready for robot to practice with
- Constructs bumpers for the robot
- Develops a scouting database and data collection systems (ex: lovat apps)
- Keeps the drivers informed about the capabilities of other relevant FIRST teams (mostly those in Florida and at World’s if we attend World’s)
- Keeps team in stands engaged
Responsible for scheduling and producing the video content for Youtube and Instagram Reels. Targeting the release of two videos per week. Works with the CMO to coordinate on theme, quality, sponsor representation.
- In charge of working toward the safety award, promoting maximum safety within our team (and to other teams during competition)
- Ensures proper use of tools and PPE (personal protective equipment including safety glasses and hearing protection).
- Ensures fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and battery spill kits are on the scene.
- Understand the safety portion of the game manual
- Create team safety manual, including battery safety information (MSDS)
- Coordinates and strategizes with other alliance members prior to the match
- Communicates with the driver about other actions on the field, so that the driver can keep their attention on the robot.
- Tryout for Driver during Pre-season
- Operates the robot, coordinates strategy with Scouting Captain & Drive team
- Non-exclusive position. Other leads and captains may run for this position (excluding Team Captain)
- Practice whenever available
- Identifies and Trains backup driver.
